Private Golf Lessons in San Francisco

A private lesson is the fastest way to change anything real about your golf. There's no waiting your turn, no drill aimed at the average of a group — the whole hour is spent on the two or three things that are actually costing you shots.

Most lessons run on TrackMan inside the Lincoln Park clubhouse, so your club path, face angle, spin and carry are numbers on a screen rather than a matter of opinion. We film your swing and go through it side by side, and you leave with a short written plan for what to practise before the next session.

Michael teaches complete beginners and single-figure players in the same week, and the session is pitched at wherever you actually are. If you'd rather work on your own course, he travels to students within 20 miles of San Francisco.

Questions

Private lessons: common questions

How much is a private golf lesson in San Francisco?
Michael's private lessons are $175 for a 60-minute one-on-one session, which includes TrackMan data, video analysis and a written practice plan. Multi-lesson packages are available — get in touch for current rates.
How many private lessons will I need?
It depends what you're fixing. A single session is enough to diagnose a specific problem and give you something concrete to work on; a genuine swing change usually takes a block of lessons over a few weeks so the new movement has time to hold up under pressure.
Do I need my own clubs?
Bring them if you have them, along with stable shoes you can swing in. If you're just starting out, Michael keeps clubs and balls you can borrow — just mention it when you book.
Where do private lessons take place?
Most take place in the two TrackMan bays inside the Lincoln Park Golf Course clubhouse, with the course and putting green available for short-game and on-course work. Moscone Park Golf Practice Area is a second option, and Michael travels to students within 20 miles of San Francisco.
